  • PRE-BENCHING – SAVE TIME & MONEY IN THE FIELD

Image of a pre-benched maintenance hole.

Benching precast maintenance holes in the field is a dying art form, which can be very time consuming, labour-intensive, and costly. It can also lead to less precise work and damage to product. That’s if you can find trained staff to perform benching in the field!

Concast is pleased to offer pre-benching for sanitary and storm maintenance holes. We have perfected the process in-house, utilizing state-of-the-art machinery and a trained team of professionals. Using EPS, we can get the variance down to approximately 2mm, keeping measurements accurate.

    Why pre-benching?

Pre-benching is done to create a channel within the maintenance hole to guide the flow of water/sediment out of the pipe. We can do this by creating a through and through pre-benched channel (straight through the maintenance hole) or a curved/angled channel to direct the flow.

    What are the benefits?

There are a few benefits to choosing this method over traditional field-benching:

    • Saves time in the field, keeping your project on time
    • Saves on cost, keeping your project on budget
    • Done in-house, ensuring precision and a smooth finish

    What sizes are available?

We can work with the following diameter maintenance holes:

    • 1200mm diameter
      • Including 600Ø maximum pipe size for through and through benchingIncluding 450Ø maximum pipe size for curved/angled benching – with 2x 450Ø pipe maximum angled.
      • We can have multiple benching channels for smaller diameter pipe sizes
    • 1500mm diameter
      • Including 825Ø maximum pipe size through and through benchingIncluding 600Ø maximum pipe size for curved/angled benching – with 2x 600Ø pipe maximum angled
      • We can have multiple benching channels for smaller diameter pipe sizes

NEW: Add our HDPE liner for added protection!

Interested in giving your project an additional layer of protection? Why not add our HDPE liner to protect from corrosive gases and liquids. This is especially valuable in sanitary management systems, where these issues can be prevalent.
