Banner image with three photos. From left to right, the first photo is a close-up shot of a Perfect Pipe with its bright yellow HDPW liner, the next is a Tri-Span installation on a job site, the last is a close-up of large reinforced concrete pipes. Under the images is a red wavy title overlay with the text Wet Cast vs. Dry Cast - What's the difference?

What’s the difference between Wet Cast vs Dry Cast?

Did you know we manufacture both wet cast and dry cast precast products? We sure do! However, do you know the difference between Wet Cast vs Dry Cast? We get asked that question A LOT! Let’s discuss.

    Difference #1 – Curing Process

A close up shot of a Perfect Pipe with a bright yellow HDPE liner. The pipe is inside the Concast manufacturing plant.

One difference between them is how they are cured. Additionally, a Wet Cast product is cured in its form (or mould), whereas a Dry Cast product is stripped from its jacket and then cured. Our Perfect Pipe (shown here for example) is a Wet Cast product.

    Difference #2 – Strength

A close up shot of a Tri-Span installation at a job site. three workers measure for accuracy in the background.

What are the strength differences? The answer is simple: there are no strength differences. Concast manufactures both to meet the same industry standards for precast products. Our Tri-Span products (shown here) are Wet Cast made and meet all requirements for a wide range of robust applications.

    Difference #3 – Quality

A close-up shot of stacked reinforced concrete pipe. A view through the center of the middle pipe shows more stacked pipes in the background.

Is there a quality difference? Absolutely not! The main difference between them is how they are manufactured. Both have the same quality you’ve come to expect from Concast products that you can depend on. Our reinforced concrete pipes (shown here) are manufactured both ways, depending on the size.

    Wet Cast vs Dry Cast

Concast offers both Wet Cast and Dry Cast products. Although they may be made different in their manufacturing processes, both products are extremely durable and have the same quality levels.
